Telemedicine or In-Person Visit: Which is best for you?

At Northeast Texas Neurology Associates, we are offering two different types of appointments, telemedicine visits and in-person visits.  We are able to offer telemedicine visits to those with internet access who have either a smartphone or a computer with audio and video capability.  If you are a new patient, are getting a procedure, or do not have internet access and a smartphone or computer, then you can come into the office for your visit.

Telemedicine visits require audio and video, so we are able to see and hear you.  The three different platforms we use are the Patient Portal (www.yourhealthfile.com), Zoom and FaceTime.

  • The Patient Portal appointment requires a computer and logging into your account.  You are not able to do this with a smartphone.

  •  A Zoom appointment can be done through a computer or smartphone (Android or iPhone).  We will email you an invitation to log-in to your visit.

  •  A FaceTime appointment will occur with your iPhone, iPad or Mac computer.  We will call you at the number you provide us.

Before your visit, we ask that you sign into the portal, update your personal information, medications and answer a few questions about 10-15 minutes before.  One of our medical assistants will connect with you to make sure you are ready for your visit.  Then Dr. Jetter or Talesh will continue the visit.

Watch Dr. Jetter’s video below for other tips to make your telemedicine visit go as smoothly as possible.

Preparing for Your Telemedicine Visit

Most insurance plans are covering these visits just like they are in-person visits.  We will verify your insurance benefits and let you know what your portion will be the day before your appointment.

In-Person Visits

The other option for visits is coming into our clinic.  These visits are a bit different than before Covid-19.  We are taking all precautions to keep our patients and our employees safe.

Payments for these visits will occur the day before to minimize exposure within our clinic.  We will confirm your appointment, screen you for Covid-19 symptoms and collect payment over the phone.  If you have symptoms of Covid-19 or are confirmed positive, we ask that you reschedule your appointment.

It is important that you continue to get your routine check-ups for your chronic medical problems.  We are happy to be able to accommodate you as best we can to keep you healthy and safe.

If you have questions about which appointment is best for you, please call the office at 903-526-7055 or send us a message through the portal.  If you would like to become a patient at our clinic, you can learn more information here.
